A driver was ordered to attend a road safety course after a speed camera snapped them holding a sign saying ‘No Photographs Please’ while flicking the Vs.

Police were stunned when they caught the motorist making the rude protest while driving a red Nissan Qashqai.

The driver was holding a sign in front of their face which read: “No Photographs please. You will have to speak to my agent first. Thank you.”

While holding the steering wheel and sign with one hand, the driver also made a rude V-sign with the other.

Despite not speeding, the driver still broke the law by obscuring the windscreen and was ordered to attend a road safety course.

West Mercia Roads Policing team posted pictures of the driver after they were caught on camera on the A458 in Morville, near Bridgnorth, in Shropshire in January.

Writing on X, formerly Twitter, police said: “This motorist decided to make their feelings known as they drove past a speed camera in Shropshire recently.

“By doing so, they committed an offence of not being in a position to have full view of the road.

“The ‘What’s Driving Us’ course they had to attend as a result of this offence aims to give attendees an insight into driver behavior and the importance of driving with consideration towards other road users.”

After posting pictures of the driver on social media, online users were quick to brand the motorist “a numpty”.

Writing on Facebook, one said: “What a n**, seems these people who think they are above the law seem to be on the increase.”

Another wrote: “The world is full of them…”

Meanwhile, one user said: “What a numpty.”

One user added: “Bet he lists 'Auditor' as his job.”

Another said: “Driving without due care and attention would have been a more appropriate charge, along with not being in control of his vehicle. Idiot.”

Another said: “And he's got a licence??? What an absolute prat.”
