A couple with Down syndrome surprised their guests with a choreographed first dance.

Ffion Martin, 23, and Chris Miller, 39, met three years ago through their performing arts classes.

Ffion revealed she had fallen in love with Chris, and he admitted he felt the same way, but had to spend time apart when the pandemic hit in March 2020.

Chris got down on one knee in Ffion’s garden in July 2020.

They finally tied the knot last month - busting out their moves to "Rewrite the Stars" from the film "The Greatest Showman."

The pair, who were both adopted, are now living with Ffion’s mom, Janice Martin, 65, but they plan to buy a house together.

Ffion, from Carmarthen, Wales, said: “Chris makes me laugh and makes me the person I am.

“Chris is a real gentleman and he’s amazing."

Chris added: “Ffion has changed my life forever.”

Janice, a retired advocacy coordinator, said: “It was such a special day.

“Their first dance was beautiful, and they chose 'Rewrite the Stars' as they wanted to ‘rewrite history’ and prove Down syndrome doesn’t hold you back.

“They walked down the aisle to ‘This is Me' from the same film too.

“Every time I looked over at them both they were just so happy and smiley.

“I’ve always told Ffion that she can do anything.”

After hitting it off when they met at their drama school three years ago, Chris and Ffion had to spent most of the last two years apart, shielded due to Coronavirus.

“They FaceTimed a lot,” Janice said.

“They then decided that they wanted to get engaged so when lockdown restrictions lifted Chris and his mum could come into the garden he proposed.

“He got down on one knee and it was so lovely.”

Chris and Ffion have a passion for dance, and choreographed part of their first dance so they could surprise their guests at Hijinx Academy in Carmarthen, Wales, on June 18.

“It was a magical moment,” Janice said.

“A beautiful day.

"I chose Ffion when I decided to adopt her and it makes it even more special seeing her at her wedding."
