THREE OUT OF FIVE AMERICANS THINK THEY’LL WASTE THE SUMMER IF THEY DON’T TRAVEL ANYWHERE, ACCORDING TO NEW RESEARCH.

{VO}

THE POLL, WHICH INCLUDED 2,000 ADULTS, REVEALED NEARLY THREE IN FIVE (58%) ARE EITHER PLANNING A SUMMER VACATION OR ALREADY HAVE ONE IN PLACE FOR THIS YEAR.

THE STUDY, CONDUCTED BY ONEPOLL ON BEHALF OF ROADPASS DIGITAL, ALSO SHOWED ALMOST TWO THIRDS (63%) OF RESPONDENTS ARE MORE INTERESTED IN PLANNING “STAYCATIONS” – TRIPS THAT ARE CLOSER TO HOME – THAN THEY WERE A FEW YEARS AGO.

RESPONDENTS REPORTED CONCERNS LIKE THE PANDEMIC (59%) AND OVERCROWDING (55%), AS CONCERNS ABOUT TRAVELING THIS UPCOMING SUMMER.

ALMOST HALF (48%) OF RESPONDENTS ARE PLANNING TO DRIVE TO THEIR DESTINATION THIS SUMMER—PERHAPS BECAUSE TWO IN THREE (67%) ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT PLANE TICKET PRICES, COMPARED TO THREE IN FIVE THINKING ABOUT THE THE PINCH AT THE PUMP (59%).
