A police officer rescued a fawn that was trapped in a fence on the side of a busy highway and reunited it with its mother.

State Trooper Mollie McClure was patrolling Interstate 94 near Avon, Minnesota, when she spotted a female deer “pacing back and forth” near a fence.

As she approached, McClure found the little one was stuck in the fencing.

Body camera footage shows the moment McClure freed the fawn from the fence and lifted it over the barbed wire to be reunited with its mother.

Minnesota State Police posted this statement on social media: "An unusual call for help had Trooper Mollie McClure jumping into action.
