A tornado on the island of Puerto Rico sent debris flying hundreds of feet into the air.

Video, filmed in Agueda, shows the twister as it covers the landscape with debris.

Ismael Jimenez, who filmed the video, said: "Tornado in Aguada!!! From home, I could see from the beginning until it ended about seven minutes later!!!"

The weather phenomenon, on July 16, was described as "short-lived" by the National Weather Service.

"A short-lived tornado was formed over Aguada this afternoon," it tweeted.

"Our personnel will be evaluating the damage to determine its classification.

"In the meantime, if you have pictures or videos we would like you to share it with us."
