Officers were forced to borrow kayaks from locals - after a drunk driver crashed into a flood.

Police in Sussex were called after motorist James Doyle misjudged the road and was stuck in water.

Cops then had to wade in to reach him to conduct a breathelizer test - which he failed.

Members of the public then offered Sussex Police officers kayaks so they could complete checks on the car.
