This is the funny moment a young pup got its head stuck inside a can of dog food.

Heather Hunt, 51, was shocked when she heard her seven-week-old Zuchon puppy Ronnie clanging around inside his crate with a can on his head.

The video shows Heather's six other dogs all watching on as Heather grabs the pup and removes the can from his head.

Heather, who works as a head of year at a secondary school in Oldham, Manchester, said: "My dog Crumpet had had five puppies and two looked identical so we named them Ronnie and Reggie.

"My son Ryan had fed the dogs and then for whatever reason, had left the can on the dining room table.

"The bigger dogs can get to it if they climb onto the chair, so they must’ve knocked it off because Ronnie wouldn’t be able to get up there."

Heather was upstairs doing some laundry when she heard some clanking and yelping coming from downstairs.

She said: "I came downstairs to find Ronnie in the big dog crate clashing around as he couldn’t get this can off of his head.

"He had obviously tried to get a bit of meat that was right at the bottom of the can.

"I did think it was quite funny but I was then quite concerned thinking 'Good god I hope he's ok and he can actually breathe.'

"The can couldn’t have been on long because I was just upstairs putting laundry away, so it couldn’t have been longer than 15 or 20 minutes."

Ronnie has now left Heather and has moved onto his new home, but Heather is still in contact with his new owner who tells her he is still getting into mischief.

Heather said: "I did meet up with all of the puppies that have moved onto new homes recently.

"We’ll be meeting again in a few weeks time and Ronnie's new family tell me that he’s dead mischievous and full of character."
