Steve Jobs business card sells for world record over $180,000

A Steve Jobs-signed Apple Computer business card has sold for a jaw-dropping $181,183.

Boston-based RR Auction says the sale is believed to be a world record price achieved for a signed business card. The lot far outperformed its original estimate to make over $10,000.

The card, from circa 1983, is described as "rare and perfectly graded" and features the iconic 'rainbow' version of the Apple 'byte' logo and identifies Jobs as the "Chairman Board of Directors."

It bears the company's old address in Cupertino, California and contact information from the time.

Despite a faint stain on the front from an old tape residue on the back, the card has been encapsulated and graded as in "pristine condition".

Bobby Livingston, Executive VP at RR Auction, says: "The sale of the Steve Jobs-signed Apple business card for over $180,000 sets a new standard in autographed business cards. It's a testament to the enduring legacy of Jobs and the profound impact of Apple on our modern world."

An Elon Musk signed SpaceX business card achieved $39,238 in Friday's (22 Mar) sale, while other highlights included an Apple-1 Computer signed by company co-founder Steve Wozniak ($323,789), a Steve Jobs signed 1976 Apple Computer cheque, selling for $176,850 and a factory-sealed original 4GB Apple iPhone that sold for $147,286.
