World’s first esports island lets you parachute in like on Fortnite

Gamers rejoice! The world's first esports island will feature a check-in that you parachute into - just like Fortnite.

True Gamers, an international network of eSports clubs, has unveiled plans to develop the $280m destination in Abu Dhabi.

The project would offer a unique experience for gaming fans, including boot camps to give aspiring gamers valuable insights into the professional scene.

One attraction would see guests arriving by parachute, in homage to so-called Battle Royale games such as Fortnite and PUBG in which players drop into the play zone.

True Gamers say discussions are currently underway with disclosed high-profile investors to secure funding. The investment will encompass everything from acquiring a private island to "curating exclusive adventures".

Anton Vasilenko, CEO and co-founder of True Gamers, says: "True Gamers conducted a comprehensive market analysis of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region’s eSports landscape and the global eSports industry’s growth trajectory before eSports Island development.

"This in-depth analysis gives us the confidence that the proposed business model will be instrumental in bringing eSports Island to life."

The resort will feature a luxurious hotel, gaming boot camps to "optimize strategies", and a world-class gaming arena.

The arena will host specialized areas, including a computer club with 100 high-performance PCs, a car simulator area with 20 platforms, a console zone, and a fully equipped streaming area.

The GG Resort hotel would boast 200 luxurious rooms equipped with high-performance computers for "an unrivaled gaming experience". Guests can also enjoy various leisure facilities, such as a spa, pool, and pristine beaches.
