Actor cast as Ed Sheeran says he’s getting a custom-made ginger wig

A 23-year-old British actor cast as Ed Sheeran in the first feature film about the singer says he is getting a special custom-made - ginger WIG.

Jack Edwards - stage name Jack Caulfield - has been cast as the red-haired pop star in "From Suffolk, With Love."

The movie is set in Ed's home village of Framlingham and follows the musician and his lifelong friends as they catch up, reminisce about the past and consider their futures.

It has been described as ''poignant, funny, sad in places, but ultimately feel-good and will leave a lasting impression on audiences everywhere."

Jack, of Swindon, England, said he was over the moon when he heard that he had secured his first major role in the film produced by Patrick Scott Morris.

But one thing still needs to be sorted - he needs a ginger hairpiece to look the part.

Jack said: “Scott reached out to me because I met the requirements he was looking for and then there was a process of recording three tapes.

''It’s amazing. It was a bit of a shock at the start and so weird to hear I got the part.

“The producer wants me to take parts of Ed Sheeran and then add my own spin on it.

''I will be getting a custom-made ginger wig because it needs to be consistent.''

Sheeran is one of the world's best-selling artists, having sold more than 26 million albums and 100 million singles worldwide.

Jack said: “I was studying film at uni and doing my dissertation during lockdown.

''From a mental health perspective, it was horrendous but I thought I need to take acting seriously now because this is what I love doing.'

From Suffolk, With Love' starts shooting in early 2022.
