A desperate Ukrainian dad who met Prince Charles today (March 9) has called on ministers to show more generosity to the estimated two million war refugees who have fled the country.

Pastor Andriy Kopylash, 55, called on the government to take in up to 200,000 refugees living in neighboring countries such as Poland.

He said the bureaucracy refugees face is like 'a wall' and urged the government to open the doors now and ask questions later because the situation is an emergency.

Andriy, whose visa expires next month, said: "We want to thank Britain for everything it has done for us, but we need to pay bills.

"Refugees should get more help and more opportunities to integrate and learn English.

"They should stop worrying about visas and let people come here. It would be a great opportunity to take pressure off countries such as Poland.

"Britain should take 100,000 to 200,000 refugees as part of a special program to help refugees.

"People should be allowed in first and then their status should be the second, third, or even fourth thing that gets discussed.

"They should be welcomed first. At the moment it is like dealing with a wall.

"My own visa expires on 4 April and my daughter's expires in six months. I am trying to get it renewed but I am not worried.

"I cannot go back to Ukraine, it is impossible. I am not a criminal. I am sure the British will do something."
