A support worker has been hailed for using an overnight shift to take two adults living with disabilities on a rare night out.

Maddy Cake, 21, took Laura, 27, and Sam, 31 - both of whose surnames are not being used - out in Bristol, England on April 11.

The trio were joined by Maddy's manager Matt Rich, 49, and visited Pitcher & Piano and the club Pryzm.

A video of the night out was posted on TikTok, where she has been praised for helping Laura and Sam.

And Maddy said: “Laura and Sam were so happy, they were just smiling all night and having the most amazing time.

“As we were driving back, they were asking when we’re going to go again and that’s always so nice to see.”

Maddy and Matt work for New Key, a service provider based in Devon and Bristol which aims to provide the support needed for people to live their lives doing the things they want to do as normally as possible.

In the footage, Maddy introduces herself and Laura before doing her makeup and showing the pair ready to go out.

They then collect Laura’s friend Sam before heading into Bristol for a night on the town.

At 9:30 P.M., the group head for a drink at Pitcher & Piano before heading to the city center Pryzm to dance the night away until 1:30 A.M.

Commenters on social media have hailed the night out as "absolutely fantastic" and "positive risk-taking and person centered practice at its finest."

Another person said "Sam is a party monster" - with another saying "this is absolutely fantastic - there's no reason nightlife should be an ableist-only club."

Maddy said: “I went to Laura’s as I normally would on a sleep shift and helped to make dinner before we started getting ready.

"We left at about quarter past eight and went to Sam’s house to pick him up and from there I drove us into town and we went to Pitcher & Piano on the waterfront - the guys were really excited about going clubbing.

“We went to Pryzm and basically partied all night and went into all the different rooms – Sam and Laura had a really good time.

“Pryzm is really accessible with a couple of lifts and the manager always helps.

“We left the club at half one and were in bed by three – I wasn’t drinking so I had a Red Bull and a couple of Cokes to keep me going.

“It’s not regimentally structured but we have a rough idea of where we’re going - normally they’re super excited about going out and want to book tickets in advance.

“Before we went, I gave the club a call to make sure the lifts were working - as long as you do a bit of planning you can go wherever really."

As a result of the TikTok and how successful it has been, Pryzm has offered Laura and Sam a VIP table for free on their next trip.

The video was filmed in collaboration with and posted by Open Future Learning.

A spokesperson for Open Future Learning said: “We’re an online learning provider helping educate and provide training to learning disability support workers.

"Overall, our mission is to change the way people think about the lives of people with learning disabilities - primarily the way that support workers support those people."
