Sir Ringo Starr is selling 500 life-size statues of his famous Peace and Love hand gesture.

The former Beatle will offer the pieces to be sold online for charity from Tuesday, November 22.

Stainless steel statues are available for £4,200 ($5,044), while 250 bronze artworks are offered for just under £1,700 ($2,041).

"It’s been over five decades since Ringo Starr made the universally recognized hand gesture of Peace and Love as his signature greeting and enduring message to the world," said Beverly Hills-based Julien's Auctions.

They add that it is "a transmission of positivity and light that the legendary musician has sent off across the universe through his landmark musical catalog as a solo artist, Beatle and frontman of his All Starr Band."

All proceeds from the “Ringo Peace & Love” statues will benefit The Lotus Foundation.

The Lotus Foundation supports charitable projects aimed at advancing social welfare in diverse areas including substance abuse, cerebral palsy, brain tumors, cancer, battered women and their children, homelessness, and animals in need.

Each statue is 25cm (9.84in) tall with a 12cm base and weighs 3.5lb (1.6kg) and will come with a certificate of authenticity and be housed in a Ringo Peace and Love box.
