HOW’S YOUR HOLIDAY SHOPPING GOING? A THIRD OF AMERICANS STARTED MAKING THEIR LIST AND CHECKING IT TWICE AT LEAST TWO MONTHS AGO.

A POLL OF 2,000 AMERICAN GIFT GIVERS REVEALED THAT THE AVERAGE PERSON STARTS PLANNING THEIR GIFTS SIX WEEKS BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS.

THE SURVEY, WHICH WAS CONDUCTED BY ONEPOLL FOR MINTED, SHOWED THAT RESPONDENTS ARE LIKELY TO ASK ADVICE FROM TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE WHEN SEARCHING FOR THE PERFECT GIFT.

ON TOP OF THAT, ALMOST THREE-QUARTERS BELIEVE THEY CAN TELL WHETHER OR NOT SOMEONE LIKES THEIR GIFT AS SOON AS THEY OPEN IT.

BUT IF THAT GIFT CAME FROM MOM, CHANCES ARE IT’S A GOOD ONE, AS TWO IN FIVE BELIEVE THEIR MOM IS THE BEST GIFT GIVER IN THE FAMILY.

Survey methodology:

This random double-opt-in survey of 2,000 nationally representative Americans who plan to buy gifts this season was commissioned by Minted between Nov. 8 and Nov. 14, 2022. It was conducted by market research company OnePoll, whose team members are members of the Market Research Society and have corporate membership to the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR).
