This lonely dog is still looking for a forever home - after 500 days in kennels.

Charlie the crossbreed has been in the RSPCA Brent Knoll Animal Centre in Somerset, UK, since September 2021 after being abused by his previous owner.

The 'shy' old nine-year-old who craves contact and companionship is still looking for a family to snuggle up on the sofa with - his favorite thing to do.

Unfortunately, Charlie has been negatively impacted by the domestic abuse and confrontation in his previous home that left him wary around unfamiliar people - especially men.

Andy Cook, behavior and welfare advisor at RSPCA North Somerset Branch, described Charlie as a "special lad" and the team’s "favorite pup" - who joins them every morning for a tea break.

They are now desperately searching for loving and patient new owners to provide a home for the elderly dog.
