Dapper Dalmatian dresses up like his fashionable owner

Meet the dog and his owner who love to dress in matching outfits.

Lucy Carrington, 28, and her three-year-old Dalmatian Rio are “best friends” and love wearing similar looks.

Lucy, who is originally from Nottingham, first matched her clothes to Rio for a TikTok trend in July 2023 – pairing the two in matching jumpers and vests.

Strangers loved it so much, Lucy kept doing it and spend a day hunting out stylish outfits for Rio that she can match to.

Rio now has a wardrobe of around 40 clothes – including smart bandana’s and cosy coats.

Lucy, a content creator and lash technician, living in Perth, Australia, said: “He’s like a baby.

“He’s very spoilt.

“Since day one he’s had us wrapped around his paw.

“Now he’s got a bigger wardrobe than me.

“I’m going to have to create a section in my wardrobe.”

Lucy has always been obsessed with fashion and dreamed of getting a Dalmatian after seeing Disney’s "One Hundred and One Dalmatians" as a child.

She said: “I’d dreamed of having a Dalmatian.

“They are seen as quite high fashion dogs.

“That was part of why I wanted that breed.”

Lucy first dressed Rio up in matching outfits for a TikTok trend where partners wear multiple similar outfits.

She said: “I thought ‘why don’t I doit with my dog?’”

Strangers became so obsessed with Rio and his outfits Lucy kept doing more.

She hunts out doggy outfits from places such as Shien, K-mart and pet shops – spending a day sourcing suitable stylish clothes.

Lucy said: “I spend the best part of a day searching for outfits. I make sure they look good and not silly.

“I order clothes for me that match his outfits.

“It’s easier for me to find things that match.”

Lucy spends no more than $100 AUD on Rio’s outfits each time – and said some of her favourite include his Halloween looks.

Rio loves wearing the clothes but only stays in them for the videos.

Lucy said: “He’s more than happy in them.”

She says her family and partner, Josh, 32, a salesman, loves seeing Rio’s new outfits.

Lucy said: “It’s a running joke with the family. They are like ‘what is Rio wearing this week?’”
