A rare ‘rainbow cloud’ was captured arcing over the sky as dusk fell in the wake of Storm Arwen.

The spectacular sight appeared over grassland near St Peter’s Church in Corby, England.

Photographer Leila Coker spotted the phenomenon while taking a walk just before
sunset on Monday, November 29.

She said: “I was taking pictures of the storm damage to trees and buildings about an hour before sunset when I spotted the clouds, " she said.

“I just turned around and thought I saw a rainbow. I thought ‘that’s amazing’ and took a shot of it.

“It was like an arch over the sky and tinted with color. It was amazing.

“I take landscape photography all the time but I thought that this was odd so I had to take a photo.”

Rainbow clouds are thought to appear when small water droplets or small ice crystals scatter the sun’s light.
