“It’s sad, the situation we’re in right now everybody's struggling, people out of work. There’s probably a lot of holiday packages."

Hundreds of FedEx packages have been found dumped in a ravine causing locals to go hunting for their missing deliveries.

The boxes were spotted by residents of the street in Blount County, Alabama, on Wednesday afternoon November 24.

Blount County Sheriff’s Office attended the scene and were confused by the discarded deliveries, alerting locals to the incident over social media.

That evening, FedEx sent drivers to the area to fish out the packages to be redelivered to their intended recipients, while protected by a sheriff's deputy.

Natasha Abney, 41, lives further down the street and was alerted to the boxes by a neighbor.

She said: “I got back there I’m thinking it would be a few packages, but when I looked up I was like ‘Oh my!'

“I know for even pre-COVID a lot of people have been complaining about FedEx, it’s not just our area.

“Not delivering but marking stuff delivered, stuff getting delayed.

“The driver that does come to this area drives like a maniac, I've seen people say he drives with the door on the back of the truck open.”

Photos, taken by Natasha, show boxes of various sizes littered around a wooded area, which is believed to be on private land.

She says she’s seen people go searching for their missing deliveries down the ravine and has caused a traffic problem on the dead-end street.

This was after Blount County Sheriff's Office named the road on social media, which they later removed.

Law firm worker Natasha said: “It's not built for a bunch of traffic, and it's dangerous if you fall or hurt yourself or get bit by a snake.

“It’s sad, the situation we’re in right now everybody's struggling, people out of work.

“There’s probably a lot of holiday packages.

“There are medical supplies, some are addressed to a local school, local businesses drug and an alcohol rehab facility.”

“For somebody to do that - why? It would've probably taken less energy to actually deliver the packages.

“It’s sad, every person that one of those packages is addressed to is a victim.”
