The mom-of-two, who beat breast cancer four years ago, was admitted to hospital with a chest infection in December and died surrounded by her family on Christmas Eve.

In tribute to Christine – dubbed the “Queen of Halloween” - her grieving family arranged for her funeral last month to be witch-themed.

Make-up artists decorated the funeral director’s faces and she was laid to rest with her favorite ornamental sword.

The horse-drawn hearse - decorated with pumpkins and flowers arranged in the shape of a witch's hat - carried Christine’s jet-black coffin to Astwood Cemetery in Worcester, England.

The service was led by a funeral celebrant who dressed up as Alice Cooper while rock classic "He’s Back (The Man Behind the Mask)" was played.

Christine’s daughter Camille, 39, and her dad Andrew, 65, from Worcester, were among the pallbearers who carried her coffin.

Christine said: "Mum was a heroic and strong-willed woman with a burning desire to live; it is with great sorrow and heavy hearts we laid her to rest before her time, our world has been shattered by her loss.

"We were waiting for Mum to have a knee replacement this month - I didn't expect to be sitting inside a hearse for three hours decorating it the night before her funeral.

"For me, being able to carry mums coffin with my father and express our grief and sorrow with creative acts was a cathartic experience.

"It gave us the chance as a family to feel mum's presence and share how much we dearly love and miss her.

"We will always keep mum alive by celebrating her life and birthday; she was the Queen of Halloween."

After the funeral, mourners held a wake in the Mug House in Claines, Worcs., which is famed for being one of the UK's most haunted pubs.
